Congratulations to Shahbaz Sharif on assuming office: Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Pakistan's new Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on taking office.

He also hoped that Shahbaz Sharif's efforts would further enhance Russia-Pakistan cooperation.

The Russian president said in a statement that relations between Russia and Pakistan would be further enhanced with regard to Afghanistan.

He also said that co-operation between the two countries would be further enhanced for the prevention of terrorism.
