We see Pakistan as an important partner. United States

The State Department says the United States views Pakistan as an important partner and companian for a secure, stable and prosperous Afghanistan.

"We have worked and will continue to work with Pakistan on Afghanistan in the past, especially for Afghanistan, which is committed to the fundamental rights of its citizens, including minorities, women and girls," said Ned Price, a State Department spokesman.

He further added that our relationship with Pakistan has been important for almost 75 years now. He also expressed his desire to work with the new government in Pakistan on regional and international issues. By working, peace and prosperity are possible in Pakistan and the region.

The US State Department says it has already congratulated Pakistan's new Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and is looking forward to working with his government.
